Great for treating yourself! This form of massage is essential for those
who need to relax and unwind. All our massage therapists are trained in
this invaluable form of massage.
Relaxation massage is a gentle, soothing massage that uses a variety
of techniques in combination with aromatherapy oils to relax you as much
as possible. Swedish massage, pulsing and energy balancing are some of
the massage techniques that may be used throughout a session.

Fascia is a Latin word meaning “band” or “bandage”.
It is the most pervasive type of body tissue in the body, it is everywhere.
It is the infrastructure of the body. Fascia not only gives the body its
form, both inside and out, but it also provides the scaffolding for all
of the other systems of the body, such as the circulatory, nervous and
lymphatic systems. Fascia might be considered the skeleton of soft tissues.
Myofascial
Release is a whole-body, hands-on approach for the evaluation and treatment
of the human structure.
Fascial strains can slowly tighten, causing the body to lose it’s
physiologic adaptive capacity. The tightness can, over time, stretch like
a pull in a sweater or stockings. Flexibility and spontaneity of movement
are lost, setting the body up for further trauma, pain and limitation
of movement. Powerful fascial restrictions then begin to pull the body
out of its proper alignment, causing highly inefficient and energy consuming
movements and posture.
The goal of Myofascial Release is to remove fascial restrictions and
restore the body to a state of balance. When the structure is returned
to a balanced state it is realigned with gravity. When the aims have been
accomplished, the body’s natural ability to self-correct itself returns,
restoring optimum function and performance with the least amount of energy
expenditure.

A Trigger Point is an area of tissue with low neurological activity that,
when stimulated or stressed, becomes an area of high neurological activity
with referred sensations around itself or other parts of the body.
Trigger Points are produced by muscle stress, such as overwork, repetitive
motion, or sudden excessive stretching. Characteristics of a Trigger Point
are a deep aching pain, limitation of motion and often weakness in the
muscle.
Many common aches and pains, such as headaches, back pain and pain in
the legscan be caused by Trigger Points and are often overlooked. Trigger
Point Therapy can be incorporated into a massage session for your convenience.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is the use of slow, gentle strokes on the
body to stimulate and increase the flow of lymph in the body. Our Lymphatic
System is crucial to optimal well-being. Our Lymphatic System works constantly
transporting nutrients throughout the body, almost like a sewage system.
This helps boost our immune system, as harmful substances are being removed.
Lymphatic drainage is effective for sports injuries, post-surgical conditions,
immobility and oedema.
